Chapter 18

Sky's POV

“And now for the girls.” Patton's voice echoes through the room as he calls out.

I feel my breathing quicken and my palms become sweaty as panic sets in once again. “I can’t do it.”

“Sky and Megan.” Patton calls, but I barely hear him over his Ethan’s gaze. His fingers brush against my skin as he tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, his eyes never leaving mine.

I took a deep breath as I stepped out onto the mat, feeling the weight of the upcoming match. It takes everything within me not to let Blood e jump out of my skin. I’m nervous. But not as nervous as Megan, who is glued to the floor at the edge of the mat where she’s been standing all afternoon. It's unusual to see her in this state. I am positive that when Patton mentioned her name along with mine; she lost all the color from her body.
