"What is she talking about?" Malia asked her father, glancing at him in a silent plea for help. She noticed that he avoided her eyes, looking to the side.
"The real reason you married Grant Houston is the reason I fought so damn hard for you. It's the reason I had to leave, to try and iron things out."
