Chapter 17. The Last Goodbye (2)
The baby was now chewing on his little hands, occasionally smiling at me. As I fastened the diaper, I saw him give one of his smiles, and it made my heart beat strongly.
I put on the pants JunKoo had set aside for me and sat Jiwan down, so I could put on his shirt.
"I will never leave you. I promise," I said, looking closely into those dark eyes staring back at me.
Jiwan doesn't understand any of this, he doesn't even know that today is a sad day, but as JunKoo once told me, it's as if the baby can feel our hearts. So, when I see him reaching his arms out to me, wanting to be held, I smile, feeling my heart pulsate strongly once again.
