MARCO’S POINT OF VIEW

I went to my parent’s house, and mom was waiting for me in the living room. She noticed right away how annoyed I was.

“What’s wrong with you?” she asked as soon as I entered the room.

“I fired an employee,” I said.

“What happened?”

“She’s shouting at someone’s first mistake. She’s had a lot of mistakes at work, plus she’s been spreading rumors like crazy in the office. She deserved that,” I said. I wondered how Marga was after that incident.

Mom agreed to my decision to fire Beth. We talked more about businesses and our family until one of our maids told us we had a visitor.

“Are you expecting someone?” I asked Mom, but she said no.

“She said she’s a family friend, sir,” our maid said, so I told her to let her in but to our surprise it was Athena holding a folder.
