Ronan's POV
I had been stabbed, betrayed by my guard, threatened with war by the Concord, and ordered back onto a healer's table three times. None of it prepared me for Mara saying, "Vivian claims the baby isn't Gideon's." Maeve stopped wrapping my side. Tamsin blinked.
A clean wound would have closed in hours on a healthy wolf. The spear had carried command-silver, and residue still burned along the cut; every surge of Alpha power pulled the edges apart again. Maeve expected weeks, not hours, before it healed cleanly.
Lucien, who had arrived at the infirmary without permission, slowly lowered the cup in his hand.
