The white room stopped moving when Severin entered Black Hollow.

A new line appeared across the wall.

FOUNDER CLAIMANT DETECTED. LOCKDOWN EXPANDED.

"That was either very brave or very stupid, Caldor," I said.

His voice came through the speaker. "I am willing to accept both."

"Open the glass." "Not yet."

"You just invited Severin into the same sealed territory as Clara."

"Severin is now under Custodian review. He cannot access the heir quarantine without passing the same controls."

"You continue to have unreasonable faith in systems."

The wall beside me cleared enough to show the inner control chamber.
