Garrison POV
Six years later
I stared down at the small velvet box sitting on the glass counter.
“Mr. Sterling, this is the final design you approved,” the jeweler said, turning the box slightly beneath the display lights.
The ring was flawless. A large diamond sat at the center, surrounded by a delicate halo of smaller stones. Elegant and expensive.
The kind of ring the world expected Garrison Sterling to buy when he finally decided to move on.
I should have felt something. Instead, the moment I imagined sliding it onto a woman’s finger, the hand in my mind wasn't Genevieve’s.
It was Ken’s.
Bare except for the pale mark left behind when she removed our wedding band at the airport.
Six years, and my mind still supplied Ken before it supplied the woman the ring had been designed for.
“Mr. Sterling?”
I looked up.
The jeweler was watching me carefully. “Would you like any adjustments?”
“No.
