Kelsey POV
“Mom, if you don’t come eat lunch now, I’m eating your sandwich too.”
I looked up from my laptop to find my five-year-old son standing in the doorway of my writing room, arms folded across his small chest.
Liam had perfected that expression recently—the narrowed eyes, the serious little crease between his brows, the exaggerated patience of someone burdened by an irresponsible parent.
Unfortunately, the effect was ruined by peanut butter on his cheek.
“You wouldn't.”
“I would.”
“You already ate yours?”
He nodded solemnly.
I glanced at the clock and winced. One forty-five. “Okay. That’s fair.”
Liam grinned and abandoned the stern act.
His dark hair bounced as he raced down the hallway, shouting, “You have two minutes!”
I laughed and closed my laptop.
