Chapter 73. No Tales without a Deal

“I can’t do it!” Daryl rose to his feet and started circling the couch.

“You can’t or you won’t?” she glared at him. “You are scared of my Niece hating you for killing me, aren’t you?”

“It doesn’t matter. I just want to be good and not evil and mean as my brother pictures me to be.”

He meant it when he said he needed to be good. But each time he tried to have a bit of humanity on, there lies temptation calling him forth to do evil.

Mrs. Allen slowly rose to his feet, making his way to Daryl. “You will always be you. Don’t change who you are because of anyone. If you are not willing to grant my request, then I have no information to share with you.”

Daryl’s eyes narrowed with a sad look. He has known Mrs. Allen to be determined and strong will. She meant what she said and will never go back to that no matter what.
