Chapter 5

James

Sarah is being an asshole right now, and I can't seem to understand why. I look over at Kate, as I've been doing for the past five minutes, apologizing to her with my eyes. I'd honestly understand if she just gets up and leaves, but I'm really grateful she's still seated and not even trying to reciprocate. She really isn't the rich spoiled brat Sarah had in mind.

Speaking of Sarah, she's asking Kate a lot of annoying questions now in an attempt to make conversation, although I call bullshit on that. Surprisingly, Kate is answering them, her replies brief, yet she's replying.

"So, if your grades are not really as poor as you say, remind me why you need tutoring again?" she's asking Kate again.

Kate sips a bit of apple juice and then replies, her eyes down.

"Well, it's all my dad's idea really. I don't have a say in any of this. He decides, and I obey".

Sarah goes quiet for a while, and it seems like she's finally given up on bothering Kate. I
