Chapter 9
I stood in my son's room, going through his things as my mother prepared for his burial. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I clutched a teddy bear that had been his favorite. How could this have happened? Who could have done this to my precious boy?
My mother walked in and gently wrapped her arms around me. "I know this is hard, dear," she said softly. "But we need to be strong. We need to find out who did this and make sure they pay."
I nodded, determination fueling me. "I'll do whatever it takes," I said firmly. "I'll make sure whoever was responsible for his death pays greatly, even if it means going up against the biggest and baddest criminal in the city."
My mother nodded, her eyes filled with understanding and support. "We'll get through this together," she said. "We'll find the truth and make sure justice is served."
