Chapter 10

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How could this happen? Just moments ago, I was about to call him to catch up and now he was gone. It felt like a nightmare that I couldn't wake up from.

"Can I see him?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Of course, you can come to the hospital and we can arrange for you to see him. I'm so sorry for your loss."

I hung up the phone and immediately called a cab to take me to the hospital. The whole ride there, I couldn't stop thinking about Oliver.

As I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted by a kind-faced nurse who led me to the room where Oliver was. I took a deep breath before entering, not knowing what to expect. When I saw him, my heart broke even more. He looked peaceful, but it was still hard to believe that he was gone.
