Chapter 63. Ancestress

WILIAMS HOTEL

It was another day of frustration. Lacey’s attempts to get hold of Alex had failed. His phone was back on, but he had not been picking up his calls. This got Lacey more worried.

Lacey tossed her phone on her bed and threw herself on the bed. She looked frustrated. Her call to Alex would go straight to voicemail, but at the moment, she did hear his phone ring. She was lit with an eager glow, thinking he would pick.

She needed to know that Alex was fine and as well tell her about her new findings on her uncle, as well as her plans to flee with her younger siblings.

Detective Jones had offered his place. ‘You guys will be safe at my place, I promise,’ he assured her.

Lacey didn’t want his uncle to know she had found out the truth about him. She played cool with him. When she informed Monica of her findings, she chuckled silently. ‘I’m not surprised about him,’ Monica told her. ‘He’s indeed a vengeful wolf who lusts after power.’
