Chapter 69. Lost in the Dark

Lacey was awakened by a horrifyingly loud voice that yelled, “Bring the wolf here!” She made a swift turn to see the one whose voice she had heard. Her sight was drawn to a man dressed in a black hooded cloak. She couldn’t see his face under the hood. He was seated on a high throne.

“Where am I? What is happening?” she fired questions without hesitation. The place she was in now was well decorated with gold and precious items. It looked like a king’s palace.

Lacey sprang to her feet and started drawing back as men dressed in hooded red flowing cloaks began to approach her. Their eyes were devilish red, and their waists were girt about with swords of different shapes. Lacey growled. “Stay away from me!”

They didn’t heed her warning but had her surrounded. They forcefully seized her and dragged her to the one who sat on a high throne.
