The only chance for them to do that is to remain in the land of the dead, hoping for their kin to reach out to them. Witches believe that when they journey to the afterlife with all their powers, they’ve done great evil to their kin by automatically restraining them from certain magic spells. To free themselves from the guilt, they relinquish half of their powers before they die. If they die unexpectedly, they must escape their reaper and wait for their kin to reach out to them.
