Chapter 73. Catching Up!
For the sake of her great-granddaughter, the old woman couldn’t abandon Lacey. She levitated in the air and flew toward the reaper before the reaping process could be over. With just a flick of her wrist, the sickle disappeared from the reaper’s hand, cutting off the reaping process. Lacey slumped to the ground, gasping profusely.
The reapers’ faces were distorted. Their entire gaze was cast on the old woman.
What have you done, witch?” the first reaper yelled. She was prepared for the worst. The reapers wouldn’t back down from a fight. They began to draw closer to her.
Lacey sprang back to her feet, snarling, eager to fight back. Before she could lift a leg, the old woman cast a sideway glance at her. “You’re coming with me!” With a gesture of her hand, Lacey disappeared into thin air. Glancing around hastily at the reapers, the old woman flashed a winning smile.
“Bye!” She snapped her fingers, disappearing into a white light.
