Chapter 23. Carnival
Tents were being raised into the air, makeshift stalls and caravans parked on the plain open fields, and the people of Richmond were getting ready for the carnival, it’s usually a three day’s event and each one they’ve ever held was always epic that it left people talking for days.
Queen was so excited, she worked hard during the night. She’d joined her mum to over six hundred pastries, for the carnival, they had gotten a spot, but it wasn’t easy getting it.
They had arrived at the venue, Queen looked out the van, she couldn’t help but stare, her jaws practically dropped. “Wow, they sure know how to have fun,” Queen commented.
Her eyes went wide at the rides she saw, the different merchant stalls with different goods, they even had other bakers around, her lips tugged into a smile.
“Mum I smell rivalry, we’ll have to come out as the best stall for this event.” Queen rambled to her mother, as they unloaded the van.
