Chapter 22. One More Round

Come the next morning, I find myself worrying even more than before when Liam is a no-show for mythology.
When he left my dorm early this morning, climbing out the window just before the sun had begun to rise and leaving me with a quick peck on the cheek before his departure, I didn’t for a second think to worry about not seeing him again.
Having healed almost completely from his injuries thanks to his shifter genes, I had no reason to follow after him to make sure he’d gotten back to his apartment in one piece.
At the moment, I’d been too consumed with my own feelings about him, leaving me to think things through—my emotions raw from separating so soon after finding him in such a harrowing way to think he’d get caught up in something else.
Would that enforcer who got away come back so soon after almost being killed? Perhaps he’d known how angry my father would be if he returned empty-handed and figured taking his chances again here would
