At Iris’s feet sits what looks to be an emergency kit—quite an ironic thing to be carrying at a moment like this—while her jaw is dropped practically to the ground.
Well, I suppose that’s one way for our secret to be spilled.
To Iris’s credit, she doesn’t immediately scream or pass out from the shock—from what I suspect she’s just witnessed—to us both shifting. Quite an admirable feat in hindsight. I suppose I would’ve felt more proud of her if the spots in my vision weren’t beginning to make me feel dizzy.
Even though my first set of wounds have healed, I haven’t exactly recovered from the blood loss yet, and this fight has only added to my already depleted body.
“Iris,” Ainsley puts her hands up, her steps careful while approaching her friend. “This isn’t what it looks like.”
