Chapter 21. Bleeding Vows

The stench of my family fills the dorm room, almost choking out the lingering aroma of Iris’s incense.
Liam is laid out on the floor with our bath towels under him to catch any of the blood still trickling from his wounds. By now, I have his shirt torn off of him and the deep claw marks embedded into his chest packed with gauze and whatever else we could find in the quick two-minute search Iris had done while I’d cut the fabric away to give me better access.
I’m too angry to be scared at this point.
My father sending enforcers out here to stalk and potentially harm me isn’t exactly surprising. After all, I’d been expecting it since I’d come and gone from my packlands. I know Tristan never would’ve told a soul about me going there, but that wouldn’t mean my scent hadn’t lingered long after I’d departed if I had masked it improperly, tipping my father off to my weekend escapades.
Hopefully, he doesn’t know I took the book.
