Chapter 82

As we looked at the painting together, Ris started up a conversation.

“Your question, why did she make you. Do you wish to have an answer?” He asked me.

 “You are just going to tell me that she made me as her replacement, right?” I sighed.

 “I am sure that is the view that the lesser deities may have, but you forget…” Ris looked at the painting as he spoke. “…she was my sister.” He said sadly. I was taken aback by the sadness that seemed to pour out of him as he spoke of her. I looked at the painting with him.

 “Am I like her?” I asked.

 “A bit foolhardier, but I suppose that is just a result of you being male.” He chuckled lightly.

 “I am assuming you were close to her.” I told him.

 “Despite her being my opposite, she and I were very close. You see, when we formed, we came from the same cosmic cloud. Ishtar was formed from a cloud all on her own, which is why we do not consider ourselves siblings.” Ris
