Chapter 4
Riley
Riley shielded his eyes from the hot sun as he lay on the library lawn with an open book beside him. He had been reading some English literature study when the sun became too bright to continue reading. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to just rest, falling into a light snooze when he felt a gentle kick to his thigh. He looked up to see Devon standing over him with two coffees on a tray.
“Here ya go,” Devon said as he sat down, handing Riley a flat white.
“Thanks, Devon. Just what I needed.”
He accepted the coffee and looked up to see that their friend Sam was with his flatmate. He didn’t mind chilling out for a bit, so he dusted the grass off himself and sat up to chat.
“Hey Sam,” he said.
“Hi, Riley!” Sam replied as he made himself comfortable on the ground beside them.
