Jumbo heard the noise and went to check on her in the restroom, but she wasn’t there; he figured she wouldn’t walk far because they were in a foreign city and it was past 8 p.m.

He ran outside to see if she had traveled far, but when he couldn’t see her, he returned and dialed his friend’s number. He came to a halt in front of the door after driving his friend’s car.

He approached him and began telling him what had happened and how the lady had escaped; his companion was furious at Jumbo’s carelessness.

“You gave her freedom,” he retorted angrily.

He tried to justify himself by saying, “I didn’t know she was going to escape.”

His pal glanced at him and didn’t know what to say; he decided to deal with him and bury him behind his back so no one would suspect him.
