Chapter 83

Maya glared at her friend in front of her, chewing the toppings on a doughnut and humming like they had not just come out of the bathroom with a pregnancy stick with two bright lines.

They were in Abby's sitting room now, and since they were out, Abby never spoke a word to her except to send her nervous, concerned glances while feasting on the doughnut. And it was beginning to get on Maya's nerves.

"When did you begin to notice this change?" Maya asked, surprised at how calm her voice was when screaming internally.

Abby shrugged. "Three weeks ago, when you cleared my doughnut and yours, I wanted to remind you it was chocolate. "

Maya remembered, and she paused before continuing to pace.
