Chapter 24. Fighting Back

After Adam gave Pete a day off, he could see Mariah’s pouty face from across the room but he had to do this since she kept avoiding him and he needed to ask her if she would agree to go to Ivan’s stupid ball with him and after what happened at the beach the night before, things got even more awkward between them.

Adam knocked on Mariah’s door but she didn’t answer so he entered after knocking for a while. She wasn’t in her room so Adam thought that maybe she was with his father and Nurse Sophia.

Adam’s heart dropped when Nurse Sophia told him that she was with her an hour go but she noticed that Mariah wasn’t feeling well so she told her to go rest.

He thought that he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if something happened to Mariah. He rushed to inform Mason.
