Chapter 23. The Other Side of the Story

“Excuse me!” Pete said in a loud yet polite way to the nurse at the reception to get her attention as she was busy arranging some files on the desk.

“Yes? Is there anything I can help you with,” the nurse replied politely.

“Umm…” Pete hesitated for a second but then he asked the nurse if Blaire was on duty today. “Is Dr. Blaire on duty tonight?” Pete spoke and anxiously waited for nurses reply.

“Wait, let me check!” the nurse replied and at once she opened the computer on the reception table. “She’s has a night duty today so she’ll probably be here somewhere,” the nurse said while observing Pete.

Pete felt like his heart was going to explode but he didn’t understand why. Everyone in the hospital knew Blaire because of her sunshine personality and skills.

The nurse knew the second he saw Pete, that he was no patient and giggled inside. Blaire never had the time to date anyone because of her busy schedule. Mariah and Blaire were known to be single besties
