Chapter 22

“Sorry, excuse me,” She blinked repeatedly, almost losing her confidence as she said to Jay before turning to just Cain. “It was you, wasn’t it?” She asked but he maintained his stare without a word. She almost lost it just standing there without him saying anything.

She would have preferred if he at least asked what she was talking about while pretending not to know what she was asking about. But no. He just stared blankly like she was crazy. Knowing both Miguel and Jay was watching, she gave up. With a loud sigh, she walked away, leaving the bar without another word. Miguel went after her.

“What was that about?” Miguel asked while they walked down the pavement together but she just shook her head.

“It’s nothing.” She lied.

“Is he bothering you?” He worried so Liana stopped walking and turned to him.

“If he was, I wouldn’t show to the bar to keep working. Trust me, it’s nothing serious.”

Miguel sighed, having no other choice than to believe her.
