“You know what, Jerry? Go get him.” Vic said but Jerry stood rooted where he was.

“I don’t think… I, uh, I don’t think he’s gonna answer the door if I knock.” He could already feel himself sweating at the task he was being given.

“Yeah, he’s not, Vic.” Jay supported, to Jerry’s surprise. “You and I fucking know that. We have till tomorrow morning. We’ll sort things out then. I think we should rest for now.”

“Her boyfriend or fiancé or whatever he said he was still thinks she’s missing. If he shows up here tomorrow and finds her here, what then?” Vic looked at Jay.

“We’ve played our part. That’s Cain’s problem now. He’ll know how to take care of it.” Jay said and patted Vic’s back lightly before heading further in. “Don’t forget to call Ryan, we made quite a mess at that building.”

Vic sighed heavily and rubbed his face while Jerry quietly escaped the tension and followed after Jay.
