Liam’s POV

“What was my father thinking? How could he possibly ask Lizzy to face Cara? What if Lizzy lost and didn’t marry me? Would I have to marry Cara instead?”

I walked fast to Cara’s room, upset about what my father had done. I stood in front of her door and banged loudly. I didn’t wait for her to open it before I landed a slap on her face.

“Was this your plan to make my father make a decision like this?”

Apparently, Cara knew Lizzy wouldn’t be able to beat her, so this was her plan all along. She knew if she beat Lizzy, my father would have no choice but to allow her to marry me.

My anger was rising, and this time there was no Andrew to stop me. She stared at me in shock at what I just did. She didn’t even move a bit and only laughed when she saw how upset I was.
