Chapter 2

Lizzy’s POV

I turned around, preparing to leave, staring at his terrified face, only to discover him right in front of me.

“How…” I stammered, unsure what to say.

“I could have killed you right now, but after seeing you this morning, my heart started pounding again.”

“Will I die?” I asked, moving back a little. When I turned around again, he was standing in front of me, and tears streamed down my cheeks.

“Don’t cry,” he murmured, controlling the tears that were ready to come out of my eyes.

“What do you want?” I asked, staring at him.

He sighed and turned around, smiling at me.

“Do you realize it’s such an awful thing to be bullied but do nothing?” he said as I moved backward.

I tried to find a way out, but before I knew it, he pulled me so close that my eyes were fixed on him.

“Do you realize I can smell your blood within?” he said quietly as he smelt me.

I was still unconvinced that I would encounter a vampire, a real-life vampire.

“Please don’t kill me,” I begged for my life.

He looked at me as his eyes turned red, and my heart began to race.

“Now tell me why I will kill a gorgeous girl like you?” he added, smiling at me with his fangs visible.

I attempted to push him away and scream, but he merely covered my mouth and drew me closer.

“Shhh,” he whispered into my ear as his hands slowly brushed over my body.

“You belong to me, dear, and soon I will make you mine,” he whispered as he walked away, leaving me standing there. My heart was devastated as I looked around without seeing him.

“Why do I have to be so unfortunate?” I thought silently.

I began walking home quickly, not wanting him to return.

“Who should I tell about this?” I wondered. “Mom won’t even listen, and dad is simply too busy.”

I kept walking until I realized I was about to pass the creepy house, at which point I lowered my head, afraid to look up. I took a deep breath and passed in front of the home, silently praying. I could feel him watching me as I walked by.

I sighed in relief when I arrived at my residence.

As I walked inside my room, I noticed that my parents had not yet returned. I took out my phone, which was still in my uniform, and as I unlocked it, I noticed that a lot of messages and calls appeared on my phone.

“Where the fuck are you?”

“Why aren’t you responding?”

“Are you still in school?”

“I’m concerned, Lizzy. Please leave a message after seeing this.”

As I replied to messages, I smiled to discover that my best buddy still cared.

“Thank you, Mira. I’m well. But you won’t believe what happened.” I texted her back, attempting to retell my meeting with Mr. Vampire today.

I put down my phone, expecting a message from Mira, and went to the bathroom to take a bath because I was filthy and stinking. Since it was already nighttime, I decided to put on my pink pajamas.

I unlocked my phone again, only to discover that Mira had texted me just a minute ago.

Mira: “What happened, Lizzy?”

Me: “Remember the creepy house in my area where people believe a vampire lives? Well, this morning, when I passed by the spooky house, I saw a guy standing there watching me. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but I was incorrect until he came to me tonight.”

Mira: “Are you kidding me?”

Me: “I am not, Mira, believe me.”

I waited for a response to see what she would say next, but she responded after about a minute.

Mira: “You know, it’s just a rumor going through the neighborhood, and no one has ever lived in that house for as long as I can remember.”

As Mira said that, I thought to myself. Was she right? Did I really believe in all those words people say? I was perplexed.

But today, I noticed his eyes turning crimson and his fangs showing. I was just thinking to myself when another message appeared.

Mira: “Are you still there, Lizzy?”

Even though I knew she wouldn’t see me, I swiftly responded with an emoji.

Me: “You’re right, Mira. Maybe it’s just not my day.”

Mira: “I’m worried about you, Lizzy. Why don’t you relax, and we’ll speak about it tomorrow, okay?”

Me: “Ok.”

I finished the text and lay on my bed, not caring when my parents would return. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep when I felt cold air around me.

When I opened my eyes and saw my window open, I stood up and went toward it to close it when I noticed the creepy home just a few meters away from me.

“Creepy,” I thought to myself.

I shut my window and walked back to my bed. I was exhausted. I felt myself drifting into a deep sleep till I heard a quiet voice surround me.

“You look lovely, wife.”

I instantly opened my eyes and saw no one, so I stood up and looked around my room till I spotted my window open again. I quickly stood up to close it, but as I went close to the window, I noticed someone standing there with red eyes staring at me.

I quickly shut the window, sitting down on my bed with my heart beating. I looked out the window again, and I was scared of falling asleep.

“Am I dreaming? God, please help me.”
