Chapter 8

Mira’s POV

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and it felt as if my spirit had just left my body. I was afraid to look up. I wanted to cry and beg for my life, but I was too shocked to even recognize who it was.

“What have I got here? How did you get in here, human girl?”

After hearing that voice, I was afraid to speak. I didn’t care if I looked up or knew who it was. I just needed to get it all done.

I closed my eyes and breathed heavily until I felt a hand leave my shoulder and slowly head to the side of my face. I was so terrified that I didn’t notice when my eyes began to water.

The hand made contact with my chin, raising my face to look at the person in front of me. I slowly opened my eyes, trying to figure out who was holding me and why his voice sounded so romantic.

When I looked up and saw a guy standing there with his eyes red and his teeth like vampire’s, my heart started beating so fast that I didn’t realize it until I scream
