Chapter 51

Lizzy’s POV

Being back here wasn’t what I needed. My mind kept going back to Mira; I felt so worried about what might happen to her.

I lay close to my window that was chained up, and I felt so heartbroken as I just put my head down on my knee.

The door opened as I heard a set of footsteps come close to where I was. I didn’t want to know who it was; all I wanted was to be left alone.

I felt a hand place itself on my shoulder as I looked up and stared into Liam’s eyes. I could see the sadness that rippled across his face as he looked at me.

“Lizzy,” he whispered as he put his hands on the side of my cheek and wiped away the little tears that were falling out of my eyes.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered, and I could see the sadness that surrounded his face as he said that.

Should I even believe any of the words he said? He had said sorry so many times that I could not count, and now he was apologizing again.
