Chapter 88
RHIANNON
I stared at her in disbelief, her lips kept moving nonstop and the words escaping her mouth were worse than the last.
I watched her for so long, almost leaning onto the door. Just as I leaned in a bit, there was a creaky sound.
She paused her conversation.
“I’ll call you back, just hold on,” she said.
I quickly covered my mouth with both hands, backing away from the door as stealthily as I could, running to the other side of the house, hoping she wouldn’t hear my feet move. Then I heard her footsteps as she approached the door, opening it and slamming it shut right after.
After looking both ways down the hall and noticing no one around, I rushed to my room, my shoes in one hand and my purse in the other.
I closed the door to my room as silently as I could. I can’t let her find out just yet that I had gotten home.
