I ran with no destination in mind, merely wanting to get away from him. He was right behind me, and the force with which he ran could pull up trees by their roots.

“Red Streaks, stop! Stop running!”

“Stop following me!” I threw back at him and picked up the pace. I was still in my little skirt, which made running easier, but I was soon out of breath. Needing a place to rest, I broke off the path and made my way into the garden I had discovered recently.

“Don’t go in there!” he ordered, bellowing like a dragon. I took a second to look behind me, and I was shocked to see an angry, sweating Rhys. His hair was a mess, and he did not care that anyone could peep out of a window and see their beloved Alpha King.
