Chapter 7. A Flashback
As Mike sat down and tried to think, he knew deep down that his past was not rosy, so he tried to forget it as much as he could. Unfortunately, he had no control over where his thoughts or his mind were headed at that moment. A man can only do so much, and so he went on a trip down memory lane.
He was walking down the compound and playing with matches. He vividly recalls that he wanted to burn something out of rage against his mom for scolding him for hurting his younger brother. He cannot recall what he was angry about, but he remembers the burning feeling in his gut all too well.
He decided to burn a red brick house belonging to an employee of his father. He did not care if they were inside the house at all; he just wanted to vanquish and satisfy the rage that was fueling deep inside him. It consumed him so fast that he did not think of the dire consequences of his actions.
