“What are you talking about?” Rhia denied, maintaining her calm as she tried to pull away from the hug, but Eleanor’s grip grew even tighter, keeping them pressed together.
“Dad left me in charge of the house after we left, you know. I sensed movements, and I thought it was coming from the study, but there was no one there. Turns out it was from the storeroom,”
“Are you trying to say someone was in there?” Rhiannon physically panicked, and she wrapped her arms even more tightly around her sister, “Did you confront them? Were you hurt?” Her voice trembled with alarm and worry.
Eleanor released the tight hold and pulled back to stare at her sister’s face. Her guts kept telling her something was wrong, but Rhiannon was looking genuinely worried and innocent.
“Why are you just standing there? Say something!” Rhiannon urged.
“I’m not hurt,” Eleanor looked slightly confused, “But the Grimoire was stolen,”
“Please tell me you’re joking!” Rhiannon looked
