Chapter 65. Heartbreak
Rose’s POV
When I got downstairs, I went back to the same spot I was sitting at. I saw Ana approaching me when I settled down.
“Rose, you don’t need to worry about what you just saw. Trust me, all men behave like that. You just have to be smarter,” she said gently, her voice laced with forced calm, as if trying to smooth things over.
“Leave me alone, Ana!” I screamed, the words ripping out of me before I could stop them. Everyone standing around us turned to look. I felt the tears rushing back to my eyes. But now, I was too hurt to care.
Way too hurt.
Ana was so shocked at my reaction. She visibly flinched and shifted away.
“Rose…” she whispered, reaching out slightly as if to touch me but thinking better of it.
“Leave me alone. I do not EVER want to be around you anymore. You have no sister anymore. I don’t want your good deeds. Let me be!” I snapped, my voice breaking under the weight of everything I felt.
