Chapter 28
“And so?” she stared at me with her bulging eyes.
“It’s not that easy, I’m scared.” I explained in a low tone and looked out of the window.
She shrugged, “Well that's easy. I mean you have me. I can check it for you.” With that, she snatched the phone from my hand and asked me for the necessary details, to which I answered with a shaky voice. As she navigated through my phone, my heart continued thumping faster as negative thoughts kept blocking my mind. Beads of sweat gathered on my head and some cascaded down to the top of my nose.
“Relax, you’ll do great.” Amy would occasionally say.
“I’m trying.” I would reply tensely.
After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence that hung in the air like a dark cloud. Amy screamed with a high pitched tone in excitement, cutting and piercing through the silence. She ran towards, hugging me. “I’m so proud of you, you did really great!”
