Chapter 30
“From my time here, I still have about two minutes more,” I challenged. I couldn’t afford to miss this opportunity, that was the only thought running through my mind and it manifested in the way I was desperately trying to convince her to give a chance.
“Miss, don’t cause a fuss here!” She snapped, making a few hands turning to our direction and the raven haired woman flashed a faux smile. However, I was glad to finally have her full attention.
From the onset, I had a hunch that trying to challenge her wouldn’t work in getting me a pass to proceed with the interview, instead it would make her want to exercise power over me. So, I decided to plead with her. “Please ma’am, you have no idea about how I tried to meet up. I desperately need this job, and I’d appreciate if you could just lead me to the waiting room.” I finished politely.
