Back in Joseph's home….

Felicity's POV 

I sat across from Joseph, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and warning. "I don't want you to see him again," he said, his voice firm but gentle.

I felt a flutter in my chest as I thought about Isklander. There was something about him that drew me in, something that made me feel alive.

"Who are you talking about?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant, but Joseph's expression told me he saw right through me.

"Isklander," he replied, his jaw clenched. "I know he's been in touch with you, Felicity. I know he's trying to manipulate you."

While I pondered the possibilities of existing with these conflicting feelings, all I could do was let out a deep breath. 

Indeed, Joseph’s words had an air of validity although I still found myself enchanted by Isklander who seemed to dwell in an alternate realm where shadows thrived.
