Chapter 51
“She’s watching over you.” That was what he had said, and the night was giving testimony to it. For the first time in a long time, I genuinely laughed. I laughed and cried but most of all I laughed because I could feel that my pains were almost at an end.
I heard a strange sound and I turned to see Joseph laughing with me. I did not feel surprised, it was new but I felt that every part of my life was being made anew, and I was ready to embrace it.
We soon got home and Joseph drove into the garage. We got out and walked into the house.
“Do you want something to eat?” I asked. We had both left the house without dinner and we could both use the fuel.
“No, I’m alright. Goodnight.” He said and walked up the stairs to his room. I watched until I heard the sound of his door being shut before going into the kitchen. I opened the fridge but was imm
