Chapter 105
Ayleen emerged from the bathroom, her damp hair falling loosely over her shoulders. Dressed in comfortable cotton trousers and a plain kurta, she sighed with relief, ready to let the exhausting day slip away. But as she stepped into the bedroom, her breath caught.
Murat was on the floor, his back resting against the bedframe. A bottle of liquor dangled loosely in his hand, the amber liquid sloshing inside as he took another long gulp.
Her brow furrowed in frustration. Just hours ago, this man had been writhing in pain, his body betraying his stubborn resolve. And now here he was, drowning himself in alcohol.
“Alcohol is death for you,” she started softly, her voice hesitant but firm as she edged closer to him.
Murat’s hollow, bloodshot eyes turned to her, a faint chuckle escaping his lips. The sharp scent of liquor filled the air, making her scrunch her nose.
“Still, I’m alive,” he replied, the bitterness in his tone laced with mock amusement.
