Chapter 50. Death Walk

“Rufus!” Jimmy yelled out.

“Rufus!” Becky yelled out, too.

They couldn’t wait till daybreak to search around for him. Whatever grabbed him must have some kind of connection with the egg.

They followed the grassy path ahead as they made their way into the thick woods, flashing their torches as they took a step.

A bloodcurdling scream came from the east side of the woods, stirring them to action. “That must be Rufus!” Jimmy said, as he changed his direction and started running toward the east side.

Beck followed his cue, running right behind him.

The trial that followed from the grassy patch only led them some paces away and disappeared. Good thing the scream came, drawing their attention.

Jimmy and Becky finally came to a halt. Before them stood creatures in flashy war gear, waving their lightsabers in the air in excitement.
