Chapter 30
Regardless of the increasing snowfall every day, he still held her in his arms, running briskly through the thick blanket of snow. His subordinates, seeing him, quickly made way, with none daring to block his path. He rushed into his room, gently placed Kattie on the bed, then, in panic, called for a doctor.
“Doctor, where are you? Call him over here!”
“Hurry!”
He commanded his subordinates, and without hesitation, everyone rushed to find the mentioned doctor. Hearing his urgent shouts, even with closed eyes, Kattie could sense what was happening. In her heart, fear was growing. If he found out she had been pretending to be sick, what would he do to her? If the doctor arrived, how would she continue to feign illness?
