Chapter 9
She quietly ate each spoonful of porridge slowly, as if finishing this bowl of porridge would make him send her away immediately. She wanted to prolong the time with him; she wanted to be by his side, to admire him a little longer.
Jasper was also watching her eat, and she ate so slowly that he wanted to take the spoon and bowl from her hands and feed her faster.
But Jasper could not do that; he was still a stranger to her. To Kattie, however, he was not. She could sense that he was her mate, and she wanted to stay with him until the end. She could not let Viktor find out about his existence because she knew he would kill him again.
