Chapter 32. I Can’t Trust You

Liam’s POV

I didn’t care about breaking any laws after that. I just needed to get Celeste home, so I put my foot down and raced through the rain. There were barely any other cars on the road at this time of night and I knew this route like the back of my hand. The most important thing now was Celeste.

Reaching Celeste’s home I carried her out of the car, trying to protect her from the rain. I placed my jacket over her head as a barrier. Julian helped open doors as we guided her into her home and up to her bed. I wanted Celeste to be as comfortable as she could possibly be. She had some trauma to have a rest from, she must be exhausted. Her skin was still a pale grey tone. Her cheeks were not the rosy complexion I was used to and her freckles had dimmed.

I had no clue what was going on, her screams were something that would haunt me for the rest of my life. I never wanted Celeste to experience that pain ever again. Even trying to remain calm, I couldn’t let J
