Chapter 34. A Temporary Truce

Liam’s POV

I had become sick of the mere sight of this house already, and the family within were people I would love to forget about very quickly.

A quick phone call with Nathaniel had brought me to the Stone family home. I had decided to put my feelings toward Nathaniel behind me, in order to help Celeste. It seemed he was of the same mind as well, our conversation had been quite civil.

Nathaniel answered the door swiftly and invited me inside the home. My eyes quickly studied my surroundings, but I had no care to gush over the wonderful decor of this manor. Wealthy people and their need to exhibit their riches with their lavish tastes. That was something I had no interest in at the moment. My main focus was Celeste.

“Thanks for inviting me,” I grunted, shaking hands with Nathaniel. Our eyes met and the smirk on his face irked me, but I had to remain friendly toward him “You sure no one will be home?”
