Chapter 41

Lukas POV

I returned to see two pairs of eyes staring at me. Mia and another man who I found really familiar.

My confusion slowly morphed into anger when I realized who he was.

He had broken into the bedroom weeks ago and we had a fight where he tried to stab me.

“Guards, seize him!” I ordered.

“Wait, what are you doing?” She yelled as the guards grabbed him.

“He’s a criminal. He tried to hurt you”

“He’s not. This is Axel, my brother”

The room stilled. She glared at me as she spoke to the guards.

“Release him”

They slowly let go after I gave them a nod of approval.

I stepped forward,my eyes narrowing slightly.

“Is he really your brother? How come I didn’t know about this?”

“I only just found out too”

Axel spoke. “I wasn’t going to hurt her. You fed her some strange substance that night. I wanted to know if she was safe”

“You think I would poison her?”

“I wouldn’t put it past you”
