I opened the door slightly. Lukas stood with his hand braced against the edges of the dresser, his muscles taut and his head down.

“Lukas?” I called gently.

I stepped inside and my gaze met his gaze through the mirror.

“Please don’t be upset” I said, my fingers intertwined in front of me.

“I’m not”

“Yes, you are”

“I’m not mad at you. I’m just not okay with having a stranger in the house”

“But she’s harmless. All she needs is a place to stay”
