Mia POV

“You should have told me” Axel said, a hint of anger in his eyes as he stepped away from me.

“Why? I went to nightshade at my expense because of you. Because I want you to reclaim what is rightfully yours”

“I know but it doesn’t change the fact that you told me nothing about it and decided on your own”

“You’re right. I’m sorry. I should have let you know. I’ve spoken to dad and he has agreed to meet you”

“Just like that? On his own accord?”

“Well…. not entirely. He got into some sort of trouble and I agreed to help, in exchange he agreed to my request”

“So you forced him”

“I didn’t force him. We made a deal”

“I barely know him. When I left, I was three fucking years old. I don’t even know what he looks like”

“I barely knew your mother or you. Yet, here we are. Together”

His jaw tightened. “Did it ever occur to you that I might not want this?”

“Do you know why dad got into trouble in the first plac
